DLYMI - Dances - Tango Tango

The Tango began in the West Indies, and travelled to Argentina, where it was stylized by the Gauchos. In the early 20th century, the Tango was transformed in Europe from a local street dance to one danced in bigger ballrooms.

The Tango is a sensual and vibrant dance characterized by sharp and staccato movements, crisp head snaps, and deliberate stops and pauses.

This dramatic and passionate dance was added to the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List in 2009.
